News from the Doc

Welp, I finally got my cholestrol level back and it wasn't pretty. 309!! I asked the nurse to repeat herself b/c I couldn't believe it. I'm 35 y/o....not in bad shape...and my cholestrol is 309!! So I was told to excercise and am now on low cholestrol diet and they'll check it again at a later date. I've been kinda lax about treadmilling b/c I've been doing so much running around with my middle child. But after that reading I'm on the straight and narrow.

Results for today.

1.827 miles
293 calories burned
7 1/2 laps...still don't know what that means. LOL

I gotta get that cholestrol under control. It runs in both sides of my family to have high levels along with early heart attacks/disease. Look out world....here I come a runnin!

The Journey Begins

Height 5'3
Weigh in today: 142lbs
Weight loss goal: 25 lbs or so

I had lost down to 133, but was put on prednisone for 12 days and I blew up like a balloon. I'm hoping since I just came off it, maybe some of the water weight gain will come off. *sighs*

My husband bought me a treadmill when we got our income tax refund, but I couldn't use it until now because I have had bronchitis. I couldn't walk down the hall without getting winded, so I knew not to get on the treadmill. I'm still not completely over it, but am feeling lots better. Doc says it takes 6 months to get it out of your system completely. I find myself using my inhaler at times, and I'm sure this wonderful pollen level isn't helping the issue.

So, anyhoot, I started my excersise regimen today. I'm not exactly sure how to work that darn treadmill. There's so many buttons to push....LOL. I wound up with a 30 minute run with the treadmill speeding up and slowing down as time ran down. I'm assuming this is to echo running up and down hills...running in level areas. These were my results.

30 min. run
1.817 miles
281 calories burned
7.9 laps?? dunno what that is LOL

I'll see if Gary knows what the different buttons are for so I can get different work outs. I plan on getting on my Wii Fit Plus in a bit. My daughter is home with strep throat, so I'm not gonna be out much, if at all. There's another Wii program I'm wanting to try...the EA Sports Active. I haven't been able to get it yet...money being tight and all. So Wii Fit Plus it is.

I'm gonna be looking for some recipes that are better for me to have and have a successful weight loss. I'd be interested if anyone has any that they would like to share. I'm cutting out my sweets *cries*...that means no sweet iced tea. Do you know how hard that is for a Georgia Peach? That's what I was raised on and I'm sure I had it in my bottle on more than one occassion. LOL

Thanks so much for listening to my babble.

Love and Light,
Branilae
